b’log version 0.01: starting offensive line takes shape…

I see the news on one of the other sites now. I can not say I’m surprised, starting Graham allows us to field our best…….

five offensive-linemen at the same time. I’m 100% positive on that much, as Graham was going to be our top back-up for 2007. A Heinz 57 variety sauce of an Olineman if you will, able to sub in at both Offensive-Tackle, and at Guard. Graham is the 6th out of, well, six Olinemen my G2 network had indicated that were ready to play at the start of August Camp.

So I’m pretty cool with Graham needing to play to give us our best starting five OLine post Wang.

However, this move suggests several other things as well…

  • no one was able to seize the left-Guard bull by the horns (not Holland, not Welsh, not Brooks, not Green, or whomever else)
  • the Staff wants Shu’ to lace them up at Center, and nowhere else
  • the Staff feels more comfortable with Marshman at right Offensive Tackle

That last one may be in light of the academic injury to LSU’s starting Defensive End Ricky Jean-Francois. But consider this, all things being equal, would you rather play about 40 pound of greater mass at right Offensive-Tackle, or at left-Guard??? I personally agree with HardcoreHokie. I’d match strength on strength for LSU, you can always switch Graham after that with the winnable three game stretch we enjoy post LSU. What say you? Tell me all about it right here. b-st.
