Virginia Tech basketball Miami preview

#35 R.P.I. Miami @ #39 R.P.I. Virginia Tech:

Virginia Tech basketball returns to the court down in the New River Valley Monday night after a very N.b.a. ‘esque looking one day turnaround after running vs. Boston College on Saturday.the U hoops logo

The Miami Hurricanes enter this one standing in at 2o up and 8 down overall and a climbing 1o-6 or fifth place in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Or pretty much the same as Virginia Tech hoops (2o-8, and one game back of Miami in the A.c.c. (9-7)). Accordingly, this is a very needy looking game for both squads Big Dance or March Madness slotting chances in terms of reppin’ from the A.c.c. Though The U had been hot of late; and currently holds the longest active win streak inside the A.c.c. having just upset #18 uva and #1o Duke. Conversely, Virginia Tech hoops has also been hot of late as well and as there are no ties in roundball, so someone has gotta win this one, though who will win this one? #42 R.P.I. Virginia Tech @ #55 R.P.I. Miami:

Virginia Tech basketball returns to the court down on So.Beach in Coral Gables, Fl., after a much needed week long competition sabbatical. Ergo, therefore, to wit, this is the freshest you will see Buzz and company before the November 2o17 tip-off to next season.the U hoops logo

The Miami Hurricanes enter this one standing in at 15 up and 7 down overall and 5-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Or pretty much the same as Virginia Tech hoops (16-6, and .5oo in the A.c.c. (5-5)). Accordingly, this is a very needy looking game for both squads Big Dance or March Madness hopes in terms of being the last-in from the A.c.c. One could even dare to posit that this is one of the easier looking (potential) W’s for each club from here on out. As there are no ties in roundball, so someone has gotta win this one though who will win this one? Read on to find, … out…

Virginia Tech football Miami Eye in the Sky

Virginia Tech football is forecast to go to either the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in Yankee Stadium, New York Dec. 28, 2 p.m. (ESPN) …or… the Belk Bowl in Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina Dec. 29, 5:30 p.m. (ESPN); at the moment. Accordingly, why such seemingly lowly post-season O&M projections in week no.9?

Hitting the mark... thank you Coach God!

Hitting the mark… thank you Coach God!

The omnipresent the glass is twice too large R.A.T.T. in me even finds that to be a bit, low, as in the ancient Greek concept of: ἁμαρτία or “hamartia” … i.e. the missing the mark –whereas most of us prefer the outcome concept of parabolas, or an arching arcing arrow that (eventually) finds the mark. Virginia Tech found their mark Thursday night down in Lane Stadium late in the game vs. the always talented yet likewise always mercurial So.Beach crew. Although are we/Virginia Tech finished being mercurial in our own right? Or could there be another Jiffy Pop hiccup or hamartia type game looming on our traveling horizon? As doing what we did to Miami in our own crib was the first-step, and learning how to do it out on the ~30% win index Atlantic Coast road is the next step. Read on to find out just how strident we may or may not R.A.T.T. be…

Miami Virginia Tech Acc basketball Tournament preview

#7 R.P.I. Miami vs. #88 R.P.I. Virginia Tech:

#11 Nationally ranked Miami has called: “next” and hopes to secure at least one A.c.c. Tourney win in this one!

opening round? DUNK you very much!

opening round? DUNK you very much!

24 up and 6 down sure reads like a daisy to me. And so does in the 13-5 in Atlantic Coast intra-league  maker. As does 4-2 since we last saw the U; as The U was mightily upset by the stunning Cassell Colosseum 77-62 O&M throat-punch that Buzz and company landed last time out…

Miami  ain’t half bad men, not at all. And all the more so when the pre-season mag’s had you tabbed A.c.c. mid-range at 7th through 9th, and yet as of this writing, the actual and factual A.c.c. standings have you tabbed as standing in at 3rd-place.

That does not suck.
And neither does this 2015-2016 Miami men’s hoops club which has come up -and smartly- by any and all pre-season metrics thus far.

As coach Jim Larrañaga has won a buncha games the last few seasons down on So.Beach, by being pretty good at most things, and yet not quite dominate at anything. That’s coaching folks. And this one is gonna be one tough A.c.c. Tournament game#2, as you just gotta know that the ‘Canes want some payback in this one! [Read more…]
