The new b’streetC.S. rankings are up…but did our Hokies move up???

The b’streetC.S. top continues to coagulate, looks like 3 very legit MNC contenders competing for 2 eventual spots. But the new plus one formula may sort that perfectly out, than a couple of possible MNC contenders, than the rest of the BCS stack……

  1. LSU
  2. So.Cal
  3. Oklahoma
  4. Texas
  5. Florida
  6. Ohio State
  7. Whisky
  8. wvu
  9. Cal
  10. Boston College

Others receiving bourbon: Rutgers, Klempson, Oregon, South Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, Michigan State, Purdue, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Kansas and UConn each spiting one vote.

Notes: The category II upset alert hit on Michigan last week. Anything like that this time?

Here I was all set to pick So.Fla to upset wvu in the sunshine state, but 3 starting linemen out for the year for the Bulls has backed me up. More on that on Thursday. I can play in the LSU game for either side, and it won’t change the a thing, LSU beaches the Green Wave who struggled to beat directional Louisianan last weekend. Ohio State, then U.C.L.A. and now So.Cal? What does PETA have to say about that??? Washington won’t be crossing the Delaware and may not cross the 50 on USC, as these Huskies are plum tuckered out. Oklahoma has a mild test on it’s hands visiting Colorado, but the ‘Buffs commit too many turnovers, and do not have enough offense to shoot it out with the Sooners. Texas gets extended by an improving and defensively superior K-State, but TX barely wins. Florida catches a thought to be good Auburn, who will be playing the reality TV role of seasonal survivor. Both teams have a ton of injureis, but Auburn is INT prone, so I’ll take the Gators to win. Ohio State travels to play the human defensive sieve know as Minnesota and blows the same out. Major showdown Big-10 game, but I’ll take Whisky to beat a nice Magic Johnson State football team (i.e. Michigan State) at home. CAL faces a major PAC-10 showdown of it’s own, and I’ll take the home team, in the upset this week, Oregon wins. B.C. plays a perfect UMass team, but this will not be a game of Hoops where UMass would actually have a chance.

Provisional VT ranking: the very well fabled coaches poll has really lost me this week. We are just not the 14th best football team in D-1 right now. The team with the 107th best offense intrinsically can’t be. This world can not produce enough sugar to sweeten enough O&M Kool-Aid to justify that. 17th in the A.P. is too high as well. The key will be when does Wang get back, and how good is he once he does return? Beating Klempson Away without Wang is a tall order that could easily leave us at 5-2. I need to see more Total Yards vs. the 107th ranked D-1aa rushing defense before I move us up. But we did win, and I won’t punish winning. So…”The more things change, the more they stay the same.” -George Bernard Shaw- Ergo, our Hokies remain at 26th. b-st.
