I met Bud a couple years ago and he thought the world of Beamer and left me thinking he would only leave for the head coaching job at a major university and not sure of that but time has changed and the million dollar question is has he I hope not!!!!!
I think the real question here is whether Beams stays or goes. If Whit convinces Frank that its time to hang up the whistle for good, then Bud probably heads out of town as well. If CFB is back next year, then I doubt Bud goes anywhere else unless he’s offered a head coaching job he can’t refuse.
Regardless, it’ll be an interesting offseason…

Defense gives up lots of big plays at critical times in games
He is a bit over rated however still great coach
Would love to see Beamer step down and Foster be head coach he certainly is aggressive enough to challenge a program which is stagnant and predictable
I always thought Bud to be overrated myself.
About 1-5%.
Nobody ever figured it out and simply took his speed away form him.
Like Cincy did one year up 10-5 at halftime with a pure between the A-gap power rushing quick hitting N-S charge. Let that speed charge upfield and take itself outta the play.
There is an old adage in boxing………….never hook with a hooker.
Don’t let Bud play his game.

No matter what happens to Beamer, the defense will NEVER be the same without Foster, He has GOT to stay in Blacksburg until the day he dies. Defensive Coordinator Emeritus. New head coach, old head coach, Bud head coach…put the handcuffs on Bud and tie him to the sideline. Like pancakes and syrup, like peas in a pod, Bud belongs in Blacksburg. He is ours, nobody else’s.
