Only thing I will say is … in the last 3 weeks, I’ve gotten a slew of Bud Foster questions, from peeps and from sources alike. Which is just totally strange. Sources never ask me questions. Virgin territory 1o1.
I even contacted Chris about 2.65 weeks ago and asked if he was hearing anything re: Bud Foster. As somehow 1+1=11 when it used to equal two.

Ergo, something has been siring here behind the scenes for over a fortnight. And someone did report that Foster wanted next (@VT) and badly; from the start. Virginia Tech/Whit did not grant this.
Now that being said, in a way, Whit is too new to get with just how Bud has gone Superman raised to the Atlas power and simply carried Frank and VT on his back for ~20 years.
Accordingly, and I never ever never thought I’d have to keyboard this one out … as this would have been the one single solitary time -where if I were Virginia Tech Athletic Director, Whit Babcock- I would have actually placed a phone-call to our very own $500k old regime holdover football consigliere, and asked: “Hey Jim…”

p.s. also been told that Whit is his own man, wants to run his ship his way… this is his baby men. You can like that or lump that; ‘pending upon how his (Whit’s) calls go
p.s.s. if Bud bails, methinks VT reallllllllllllly needs to rethink what happens when (not just next), As this program will seriously begin to list and take on water, and when you fish or cut bait … we just don’t have enough pumps.

Now we know why Josh Sweat went south. Everyone needs to look back at past recruiting classes and look at star ratings for defense players vs offense players.
