Tech Thoughts: E.c.u. post-game knee-jerk Rx (quickie)!

Alright everybody, we are 2 up and 1 down …or basically exactly what everyone expected us to be  after three football games.

Bucs you
Buc’s off!!!

TAKE a deep breath everyone……..inhale——>exhale…

“……..hhhhhhhhhha.”

One more………..

inhale——>exhale…

“……..hhhhhhhhhha.”

Ok…………

Now, go ahead and dig deep, and summon all the R.A.T.T.  you go’ts inside you; and riddle me this…

In a right down to the wire football game whose equation,  read:

24 missed tackles + 9 drops + 2 INT’s = a 1 play L

Now take another deep breath, put your hand on the TSL Bible and tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth…

R.A.T.T. ...this strikes you how??? ~24 missed tackles + 9 drops + 2 INT's = a 1 play L

Remember folks, always roll with 27 credit hours per semester,… or  all-class!

Virginia Tech=3 plays, East Carolina=4 plays

LETS GO!

Hokies!

p.s. we just expended a metric ton of emotional bullets in the last 120 minutes of play; with the schematically mentally challenging Yellow-Jackets on tap next

  1. Yup, ECU came ready to play and we did not. Are you sure there were only 24 missed tackles? It seemed like our guys forgot the basics.

    1. Well, hence the approximate sign: “~”, as I threw my 1986 VT Shanks Hall clipboard up on the wall.
And stopped keeping score in the 4th.

Though I would say, we tackled better in the final 30 than we did in the opening 30 Sir.

  2. What was worse was not the missed tackles….the completions allowed that were tackled….downfield. And then there were the east-west runs by McKenzie. So much focus on Hodges…Malleck had 1 catch for 6 yards. No way he gets close to the numbers Loeffler wants this way. People talked about Brewer’s potential INT totals… by the end of the year, he may have more than Logan Thomas did but how will people perceive that?

We are going to focus on the freshmen and the players like Stanford and Byrn will go by the wayside. People will see Stanford’s numbers at the end of the season and wonder what ever happened to the breakout season he was supposed to have but he isn’t being targeted either as much (had a drop). So it isn’t always in control of the player what their stats look like.

We are not committed to the run. We give lipservice to re-establishing the power run game but we don’t run a lot and we run more so east-west…. the RBs did have holes against OSU. they missed them.

We still have the ability to have a good season but we just burned a bunch of good-will again..

    1. We have no running game because the OL STILL stinks. It may be a bit better thanast year, but not much.

      1. 10 years of experience and muscle in Shuman and Benedict are gone.
10 years of the rest they would have provided as well.

That’s 11 years worth of hurt or set-backs on my scorecard.

    2. @89:

re: my boy Brewer’s perceive INT total………….IF he survives the year, we can have that talk.
      IF.

      YES.
Our Tb’s have missed a few holes.
      I saw that as well.
      Good Eye.
