The new b’streetC.S. rankings are up…..where are our Hokies?

Ohio State is in full control of it’s MNC destiny, as is very possibly Boston College. We still have 3 per se lesser prefects, then it’ gets really dicey…..

  1. “the” Ohio State
  2. Boston College
  3. Oregon
  4. LSU
  5. wvu
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Hawaii
  8. Zona State
  9. Kansas
  10. Missouri

(others receiving bourbon): Georgia, Texas, Michigan, So.Cal, Boise State, UConn
That’s five remaining perfected D-1 football teams (in italics) ; and seven 1 “L” teams. With a whopping thirteen teams currently ranked in the Coaches Top-25 with 2 or more “L’s” on the year.

So Ohio State & B.C. are in the drivers seat, and the rest need both of them to be beaten in order to play in the MNC game. Now that typed, Kansas, Hawaii (who does not play a single ranked team), and Arizona State gain cred’ with every single week that passes as they remain unbeaten. “Yes” they need help to get in, but the amount of help they need grows thinner and thinner week by week.

Virginia Tech provisional ranking: 19th. I’m not gonna dwell on the involuntary heart transplant that was the B.C. game. I’ll only mention that we will miss Shu more than a little bit @ Gah.Tech, as the Wrambling Wreck is prolly the best 5-3 football team in D-1. See what I mean???

Will the real Jon Tentua pleas stand up?That sure does not read like a 5-3 team to me folks. But GT does have the best OLine in the ACC, even though their Top-2 Rb’s are likely out for the year. Their replacement is the smallish Jamall Evans. Mr. Evans only rushed for 6.3k and change as a Texas high schooler, and his back-up one Johnny Dwyer was only the Georgia Player of the Year last year. Then there is the fact that Gah.Tech defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta is beyond in love with the Blitz. Not to metion that he has the same name as former Hulk Hogan nemesis “Earthquake” of then W.W.F. fame. That will be a real problem for a rookie VT Center to deal with. The blitz I mean, not the wrestler.

So I’m thinking that this Thursday nite could be November 10th 1990 all over again, 6-3, or 9-6, something like that, as the first one to 10 points wins. Bo Derek and I like the sound of that, so from here on out, in our remaining four football games that goes. First team to 10 wins every single one of ’em You read it here, well,…..first. ; ) b’street.
