The new b’streetC.S. rankings are up…..where are our Hokies?

The top is solidifying itself pretty nicely, as I foresee 3 possibly 4 legit MNC contenders. After that, it’s a matter of conference debate. But several have fallen out, and a few moved in. Let’s see whose where…

  1. LSU
  2. So.Cal
  3. Oklahoma
  4. Florida
  5. Texas
  6. wvu
  7. Ohio State
  8. CAL
  9. Penn State
  10. Texas a&m

Others receiving bourbon: Teams on the b’street C.S. bubble, that can or will crash the B.C.S. party: Boston College, Rutgers, South Carolina, Oregon, Clemson, Alabama, Hawaii, South Florida, Texas Tech, and Missouri.

Notes:…………Visor Boy’s Gamecocks will take a stab at LSU, but the Bayou-Bengals will lick ’em in the end. So.Cal will beat Washington State, but give up over 20 points. Oklahoma will get tested by Tulsa, more than most think, but the Sooners may have the best D-1 offense of all. Florida will have a game for a quarter, maybe a half as they visit Ole Miss. Texas gets a feel good again win vs. fried Rice. wvu will beat a rapidly wearing down ECU worse than they should. Ohio State will dot more than their ceremonial “I” vs. Charlton HestonU (Northwestern) who is fresh off of being upset by lowly Duke. ‘Zona will score a lot of points before bowing out to Cal. Penn State will actually be tested by Michigan, a category 2 upset alert if you will. aTm will find out if it’s vaunted rushing offense is for real vs. the defensive speed of Miami, I say it’s legit.

Virginia Tech provisional ranking: 26th. Right on the cusp if you will. I liked our defensive effort level, it was on the rise for the first time all year. Our OLine actually got it’s very first push of the season after approximately 160 minutes of play. T-Mobile is a next level baller, possibly a quicker version of Charlie Ward. Now, that typed, I very strongly suggest to you that this 2007 Hokie football team’s best ball is actually in front of it. I still see several things that can and very likely will improve. But it will inevitably all come down to the OLine and we only have 8 quarters left to prep for a tougher than expected visit to Clemson. Our swing game for 2007 now appears to be the Tigers. b-st.
