One more team, we are now in the Top-15. Is it V.Tech?

This might be the first time in a long time that this bunch wins their conference; and if you loved the 1980’s Air Coryell, this crew is for you. They will throw, throw, throw, throw, throw, and throw some more. They were dead last in rushing yardage last year but still finished with the silver medal (second place) in Total Offense. Go fig’ on that? But it shows you just how often they throw the ball, which stops the clock. So if you like neat, compact, plan you evening, 3 hour college football games, this is not the team for you.

15th, Texas Tech Red-Raiders, (Big-12): Good team, fun team, but a real headache of a team to prep for in the regulation 6 days (or less) if you are an opposing coach. TX.Tech is prolly the most pass happy D-1 football team out there. This year TT brings back more starters than any other Big-12 school, including a show-stopping 10 on offense. The Red-Raiders have my pick for the Heisman Trophy at Qb in one Graham Harrel. GH has only thrown for 10,600+ yards in his D-1 career, a staggering 5.7K of which he launched, hurled and fired-off last year. Most D-1 Qb’s never even sniff 5.7K for their careers, much less a season. TT enjoys 3 legit all-conference candidates blocking upfront, and 3 at Wr. The TX.Tech defense is not bad (45th best last year); considering the game-clock stopping style of play that the Red Raider offense employs. TX.Tech has one of the lighter defenses in my Top-25, but that’s ok as they have to run a lot due to their tempo dictating offense. The Red-Raiders depart 1 guy in each of their 3 layers of defense. In other words, TX.Tech is a nifty near-shot to win the Big-12. Strengths=Throwing, pocket protection, conditioning. Needs to improve=Turnover Margin, Run Defense.

If they played=TX.Tech=36 VT=29
