Logan Thomas - to Qb or not to Qb, that is the question

What would you do with L.T. as the 2011 heir apparent at the Pivot position (Qb) as all things 2010 go?

Now lets take a quick look-see at each option of this O&M hot-topic:

Qb:

Toughest position to learn, and someone has to play Qb in 2011 anywho.
Someone may have to play Qb in 2010 as well — TT has been hurt before; what if disaster strikes? How many W’s would that cost VT if L.T. is not good to go in 2010?
L.T. is not a pure Qb to begin with; having spent time at both Te and Qb throughout his career at both the High School level and now in college. If we want him to play Qb in 2011; why have him anywhere else in 2010?
The Top-2 VT Qb’s get nearly all the practice reps; having L.T. at Qb in 2010 is a major boost for L.T. the Qb in the Spring, August and regular season otherwise known as 2011. To do anything else is to artificially cap L.T. and the 2011 season itself.
And oh by the way, L.T. has the best arm on campus since the days of somebody named MV1 … plus a Draft Combine mouthwatering slew of other off-the-charts metrics.

Te:

Let’s see … 6`6“, 245 lbs., 321 lb. position record in the Power-Clean at Qb, size 8 million feet, 39.5“ vertical leap, and still filling out.
Yah; this guy is big enough, strong enough, and athletic enough to be a freaky match-up at Te — all the more so in the Red Zone when the playing field compress vertically which puts a premium on verticality and L.T. can dunk on you.
Te the position is rather thin behind Smitty. We do lack depth here. If Smitty gets hurt — we are in big trouble.
Stiney has done rather smart work from our Jumbo twin-Te package before.
Having L.T. play Te puts yet another dynamic play-maker out on the field; thereby giving us our best shot in 2010.

Qb & Te:

Have L.T. play both. There will be something of an overlap at times; and L.T. the Qb can get a feel for the VT passing-tree from the recipients side.
L.T. is athletic enough to play both positions — most aren’t, L.T. is.
Creates a dicey Run vs. Pass nightmare match-up for opposing Defensive Coordinator’s.
Brings trickeration from the H-back spot into play as L.T. can sling that rock.
L.T. can also be used as a decoy in this role to help set-up other major O&M play-makers.

So…………………………..what would you do if you ran the O&M zoo?
