Tech Thoughts: Mars’ Williams weighs in…

Couple more words on Marshawn Williams are in order…

big boy
Beast mode 1o1…

…as this is a big big boy sports fans!

Do you see what I mean?

Methinks you could possibly quite honestly break a 2×4 over this kids back; and if he is this husky right now, how off the charts Jerome Bettis ‘esque big will he be by the time 2018 rolls around?!? Geez!

And you can tackle this kid upstairs all you want.
Me?

Hell no! I’m ankle diving and attempting to open-field roll this living poleaxe of a human being up Achilles style down below. As this kid is gonna flat out truck some defenders, and make said defenders momma’s cry.

However, a new thought occurred to me last night –while studying Andy Bitter and Russian Hokie’s day#1 stills…

What if….

What if this weight-gain was calculated; or even outright intentional?

What if this kid actually wanted to reshape is body into warhorse mode and simply plow the Atlantic Coast field?

To be sure, Mars Williams is flirting with Neptune status right about now. He won’t be avoiding much -if any- contact at this behemoth sized girth. One could also question his pulmonary-conditioning and the subsequent need to spell him a bit; in order to keep him fresh.

However, what if this was all via design and Mars’ Williams wanted to get big, so that he could play …big???

What Mars' Williams really needs is..............???

  1. I’m in the “he needs to lose a bit of weight camp”, but the main thought going through my head is this:

What is “his” relationship between weight loss and agility/speed gain. If he is trying to play big, what affect will this have on his ability to break away and score the TD instead of getting tackled (tripped?) at the 8 yard line. I don’t have a problem with playing big but at the end of the day, the agility needs to be there to make one cut and go. He had a lot of shake to him in his high school film…. would hate to lose that!

I watched the VT vs Louisville 2005 highlights earlier today and it was Humes at his best. Breaking the initial tackle and then having enough pace to get to the endzone. That’s what I’m hoping for.

  2. Who am I to tell Mr. Williams what to lose or gain. He has my vote on being Mr. Williams at his stature 🙂

  3. Looks like he’d shed a bit of weight just by cutting some of those dreads. Or is the Garnell Wilds look back in?

  4. I think he needs to peel a little of that fat off to expose some of the newfound (hopefully) muscle that came with the weight gain. If all of the weight gain came from fat he has done himself no favors.
